Ralph was my third music teacher, but my first flute teacher. I was probably his easiest student because I already could read music from learning piano at a very young age. All he had to do was teach me how to play the flute. He was a great teacher and always let me come into the music room early before the homeroom bell rang so I could practice in a quiet room for a few minutes before school started. He was a great coach and helped me succeed in making All South Jersey Band after only learning the flute for one year. He always encouraged me to push harder and get better. He was so proud when he was selected to conduct the All South Jersey Band one year, and I was proud to tell all the other members that he was my teacher! I kept in touch with him and my last in-person encounter with him was when I helped him find his last home in Clayton a few years ago. I will forever cherish him as my teacher and friend. May he rest in peace and be comforted by everlasting life in paradise.
