Ralph Wallace Gaylord, age 77, passed away on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. He was born on Tuesday, November 2, 1948, in Clay City, Kentucky, to the late Russell Gaylord and the late Grace Lucas Gaylord. Ralph was a vibrant, sociable man who thrived on connecting with others. He possessed remarkable skills as an auto body restorer, transforming damaged cars into stunning works of art with his expert touch. Ralph's passion for automobiles was matched only by his love for his granddaughter, Avery Grace; their time together was filled with laughter and heartwarming moments. Family meant the world to him, and he cherished every opportunity to create lasting memories with them. Endowed with a delightful sense of humor, Ralph had a knack for brightening anyone's day. His genuine nature and vast knowledge on a wide range of topics made him a captivating conversationalist and a beloved friend. Ralph was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, embodying the spirit of generosity. As the proud owner of Gaylord's Auto Body, he ran a successful business where his craftsmanship shone brightly. Before diving into his career, Ralph honorably served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam conflict, an experience that shaped his character and deepened his appreciation for life. In addition to his parents, Ralph is preceded in death by one son, Kelly McIntosh; one brother, Wayne Gaylord; and one sister, Florine Arthur. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Judy Louise Campbell Gaylord, of Clay City; one son, Scott McIntosh, of Columbus, Ohio; one daughter, Rachel King, of Clay City; and one grandchild, Avery Grace Taylor. Private services will be scheduled at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hearne Funeral Home of Stanton.
