Ralph Norris "Buddy" Goode

A Cox's Creek resident, Mr. Ralph Norris "Buddy" Goode, age 81, went to his heavenly home on Tuesday, August 13, 2024. He was born March 9, 1943 in Washington County to the late Ralph and Mae Weatherly Goode. Buddy was a retired employee of General Electric after 34 years and was a farmer. He loved nature and the outdoors and enjoyed being on the farm with his farm buddy, Alvin the cat.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Wilma Curtsinger and 2 brothers, Larry Goode and Grover Goode.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 59 years, Brenda Snow Goode, his daughter, Angela (Michael) Smith of Taylorsville, his son, Troy Donovan (Jessica) Goode of Taylorsville, 3 grandsons, Brennan Smith, Blake Smith, Gavin Goode, and 2 sisters, Beverly Yates of Macon, GA., Janet Farley of Mt. Washington. Several nieces, nephews, sister and brother-in-laws also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Ralph Norris "Buddy" Goode will be 11:00 am, Friday, August 16, 2024 at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Interment will be in St. Michael Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00-8:00 pm. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The Houghlin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
