Ralph Gordon Obituary
Ralph Edward Gordon, age 87, of Richmond, departed this life on January 2, 2026. He is a retired entrepreneur and former owner of Ralph's Inc., an office supply store.
He was a Past Master of Commonwealth Lodge #81. He was an assistant Grand Tyler Emeritus. He was an honorary past potentate of Mocha Temple #7. All of these organizations are Prince Hall-affiliated.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John T. and Lillie Gordon; as well as his brother, Harry Sims; and sister, Virginia Price. He is survived by two sons, Dwayne Gordon (Phyllis) and Darius "DJ" Gordon (Kasey); six grandchildren, Chris Matthews and Preston, Jessica, Kenton, Chelsea and Dayana Gordon; a host of great grandchildren; one sister, Jean Gordon; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; sister-in-law, Sandra Hurtt; other relatives and friends.
Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue, where the family will receive friends on Thursday, January 15, 2026, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 16, 2025, 10:30 a.m., at Second Baptist Church, 1400 Idlewood Avenue, where remains will lie in state one hour prior to the funeral time. Dr. James Harris, Pastor. Interment, Forest Lawn Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the church at 10:15 a.m. on Friday.
