In Loving Memory of Ralph R. “Uncle Frog” Horn

January 6, 1944 – September 30, 2025

Ralph R. “Uncle Frog” Horn, 81, of Columbus, Ohio, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on September 30, 2025, passing peacefully at his residence. He was born on January 6, 1944, in Inez, Kentucky, to Henry and Lucille (Sumpter) Horn.

Ralph was preceded in death by his parents and six beloved brothers and sisters. He is survived by his devoted daughters, Lisa Renee and Lucinda “Cindy”, and by his cherished grandchildren: Stephanie (Tom), Trent (Alisha), Craig (Alyssa), and Rachel (Skyler). He also leaves behind two great-grandchildren, Kollin and Breck, with one more on the way. Ralph will also be deeply missed by many loving family members, friends, colleagues, and his loyal cat, Joe-Joe.

After graduating from high school in Inez, Ralph moved to Columbus, Ohio, where he began a long and successful career in the transportation industry. Deeply committed to his community, he devoted countless hours to local improvement projects. His impact was described as “immeasurable” by community member Lisa Boggs.

Following his retirement from the transportation industry, Ralph continued his public service as a Franklin Township Trustee, proudly serving for approximately eight years. He was deeply proud of his community and worked tirelessly to make it a better place for all.

Ralph was a longtime and proud member of The Masons and The Shriners. Each year, he played an active role in organizing National Night Out, helping to strengthen relationships between his community and local law enforcement. He maintained close friendships with members of both the Columbus Police Department and the Columbus Fire Department.

A two-time cancer survivor, Ralph spent his later years raising awareness and support for cancer research. In honor of his request, the family asks that donations be made to The James Fund for Life at https://www.osu.edu/giving/ in lieu of flowers.

Ralph’s legacy is one of service, compassion, and community spirit. He was always there to lend a hand — checking on neighbors, caring for the elderly, and offering help to anyone in need. His kindness, humor, and generosity touched everyone who knew him.

He will be forever loved and dearly missed.
