Ralph "Bud" Lowery, age 88, of Henrietta, died Thursday, May 5, 2016 at the Hospice House of Rutherford County. Born January 24, 1928 in Rutherford County, he was a son to the late Perry Lowery and Dora Revels Lowery. He worked at Spindale Mills for many years before retirement and was of the Baptist faith. Bud was an accomplished musician and played the steel guitar. He also enjoyed woodworking. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-six years, Betty Ward Lowery; one daughter, Vicki Lowery; six brothers, Virgil, Ray, Claude, Vernon, Walt and James Lowery; three sisters, Lala Hardin, Vada Seay and Ruth Webb. Survivors include two daughters, Karen Lowery of Morganton and Lisa Ballesteros and husband Joe of Henrietta; son, Joey Lowery and wife, Sherry of Forest City; one sister, Ruby Wyatt of Ellenboro. He is also survived by three grandsons, Brent Lowery and wife, Tiffany, Trey Ballesteros and wife, Cheyenne and Corey Ballesteros; granddaughter, Amanda Huffstickler and husband, Chad; five great-grandchildren, Mason Huffstickler, Linley Huffstickler, Hunter Lowery, Ty Lowery and a great-granddaughter soon to be born. Funeral services will be conducted at noon on Saturday May 7, 2016 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Scott Huffman, Reverend Bob Philbeck and Reverend Paul Willis officiating. Interment will follow in Avondale-Henrietta Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to Hospice of Rutherford County, PO Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043
