Ralph Macioce
August 18, 1966 - July 15, 2024
Ralph (Ralphie) Macioce, 57, passed away in the loving presence of his family on Monday, July 15, 2024.
Born in Detroit, Michigan, Ralphie was the youngest of five children of Mario and Michelina Macioce, who met in Alvito, Italy. Upon moving to the United States, Ralph's parents held on and fostered their Italian roots, successfully sharing and passing down these timeless traditions with their children. Ralph embodied these in every way, inheriting his deep love for family, his quick wit and sense of humor, and his passion for cooking.
Ralph shared and built an adventurous life, wonderful home, and incredible family with his wife, Carla. Together, Ralph and Carla had a truly unique ability to have fun and cultivate a welcoming environment for friends and family in their presence regardless of what was going on around them. They found joy in the simplicities of life. They were blessed with two wonderful children, Isabella and Roman, to whom they passed along their infectious laughter, love of food, and the ability to bring the holidays to life.
During his decades at Papa Joe's Market, Ralphie was the heart and soul of the bakery. He delighted customers with his extraordinary cakes, pastries, and breads. His creations were not just desserts, but rather, works of art that brought joy to everyone. His infectious smile and warm personality made him a beloved figure among his coworkers, bosses, and the many customers who looked forward to seeing him everyday. Ralph's legacy at Papa Joe's will be remembered fondly by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Ralph is survived by his wife, Carla Macioce; his beautiful children, Isabella Macioce (Brenden), and Roman Macioce (Kate); his loving mother, Michelina Macioce; as well as his four siblings, Ron Macioce (Dina), Marisa Lorant (Richard), Nick Macioce (Tracy), and Angela Meagher (Charles). Ralph is predeceased by his father, Mario Macioce.
We welcome all who knew and loved Ralph to celebrate his life with a visitation on Sunday, July 21, from 2-8 pm, at Potere-Modetz Funeral Home in Rochester. A funeral mass will be held at 12:00 pm with visitation at 11:30 am on Tuesday, July 23, at St. Joan of Arc in St. Clair Shores.
