Ralph Martin Obituary
He was born July 2, 1935, in Canton, the son of the late Ralph and Leora (Bair) Martin.
Sam retired after 30 years as a Col. in the United States Army Reserve and as a social studies teacher at Northwest High school. He was an active member of John Knox Presbyterian Church and an Eagle Scout, who remained involved in Scouting over the years. He was an avid reader, loved gardening with his wife, bowling, traveling, and church activities.
Sam is survived by his wife of 58 years, Roberta Martin; sons, Chris (Krista) Martin, Tim (Alexandra) Martin.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at John Knox Presbyterian Church, at 3:00 pm with Dr. Michael Smith officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to service at the church from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to John Knox Pres. Church 5155 Eastlake St NW, North Canton, OH 44720.
