Ralph L Meyer (93) of Ross Township passed away on Friday, January 20, 2023 after battling stomach cancer for 9 months. He fought the good fight and never gave up. Born July 27, 1929, in Pittsburgh, PA, he is the son of the late Ralph J. and Mercedes E. (Seemiller) Meyer. A graduate of North Catholic High School, he served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was an avid and accomplished golfer who looked forward to playing golf with his many friends at North Park. He enjoyed helping others with their game just as much as he enjoyed playing the game himself. Even when he was well into his late 80’s and playing 18 holes from the white tees at the park he continued to post scores in the 70’s. He prided himself in always walking the course as opposed to taking a golf cart. In addition to having a great sense of humor, he loved life and he loved helping others whenever and wherever he could. He made a point to get the most out of every day because he knew once the day was gone he would never be able recover it. He is survived by his beloved wife Elsie (Schramm) of 68 years, his two devoted sons Jeff (Lisa) and Glenn (Patti), 5 Grandchildren Brian (Dana), Justin (Kim), Greg, Ashley (Jordan) Steranka, Chad, Sisters Barb Langan and Janet Stept as well as 4 nephews and 4 nieces. When recently discussing his health situation, he stated “that nothing lasts forever”. Please know the love his family and friends have for him is the exception to “nothing lasts forever”. He will be dearly missed! Friends will be received Monday from 1 to 8 PM at the Bock Funeral Home, Ltd. 1500 Mount Royal Blvd. Glenshaw. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Matthew Parish, Holy Spirit Church, Millvale on Tuesday at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to ALSAC/St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Dear Elsie,
I was saddened to read that Ralph passed. I do recall his quick wit the few times I spoke to him on the phone. I even remember us talking about the possibility of starting an interior painting business after you saw my sponge painting in my attic. We laughed about the idea.
I hope you find comfort in the wonderful memories you have........not everyone is that lucky. Though he does not walk this earth now, be certain he walks by your side every day to give you strength and guidance. Take care.
Fondly,
Terry Kelly

Just learned of Ralph's passing. Although I only knew him for the last 7 years or so, he became a very good friend. I will miss him. My sincere condolences and prayers go out to Ralph's family and friends.
