MOUNT OLIVET — Ralph D. Reed, age 76, Mount Olivet, died Thursday, August 4, 2022, at his residence.
He was born in Robertson County on April 22, 1946, to the late Earl and Elva Gifford Reed.
Ralph spent over 40 years as an over-the-road truckdriver, retiring from Walmart and was a United States Army Veteran. He was a racing enthusiast and loved everything from go-karts to NASCAR. At the age of 50 he picked up the sport of golf and in his later years you could find him on the local golf course.
Ralph's mother died when he was 7 years old and his father raised Ralph and his siblings on his own.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Eddie (Linda) Reed; and a sister-in-law, Geneva Reed.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Berry Reed; a son, Ryan (Trish) Reed; a daughter, Jennifer (Gordon) McCoy; a sister, Ginger (Bob) Strausbaugh; a brother, Frankie Reed; three stepchildren, Matt (Christy) Graves, Kelly (Mark) Miller and Adrienne (David) Carmack; six grandchildren, Nathaniel Reed, Brookelyn Reed, Kathryn Lewis, Jarrod King, Arianna McCoy and Ryker McCoy; and several nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m., Monday, August 8, 2022, at Robertson County Funeral Home with visitation from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.
Graveside services will follow at Shannon Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Jarrod King, Shane Lippert, Tyler Lippert, Doug Jett, Nathaniel Reed and David Carmack. Honorary pallbearers will be Matt Graves, Mark Miller, Randy Insko and Jamie Moore.
