Dear family of Ralph..I never had the opportunity to meet any of you, but knew Ralph well from my days at The Powell Post. He and Howard were always such a delight when I saw them and talked with them (especially during the political races) I was shocked and saddened to find out that Ralph had passed. He was a wonderful man, very outgoing and personable. He will be sadly missed and my heartfelt sympathies to all of you. May God sustain each of you through these lonely days ahead, and may your memories warm your hearts. God Bless

To the Teague Family,
As several other present out-of-towners from the late ‘50’s have pointed out, I too saw Ralph at the “Class of ‘57” Reunion last spring for the first time since about 1959, when I left Knoxville. Ralph was one of the true strengths of that era and a friend to us all –- in all aspects of life -- and he had not lost an ounce of vitality, liveliness and wit when we reconnected in 2007. We’ve lost too many of the great athletes of that year group –- Payne, Sexton, Martinson and now Ralph. Ralph towered over me on the basketball court, and any hard contact usually left me on the gym floor –- but his large shadow, big grin and a “hand up” were always there, looming over me. I cherish my chance to reconnect and reminisce with him last year, and now as well my memories of him. I share in the sorrow of our peer group and his family, and express my deepest sympathy to Ralph's family who I never had the good fortune to meet.

I am going to miss you Ralph. Since the days at city hall when I would drop by to say hello you would always have me do my Cas Walker voice and that went on every time our path's would cross.
It was only 3 weeks ago standing outside Powell Auction when you and I were talking and you said, "What would Cas say?"
I have fond memories and I will always remember you.

I will not know what to say the next time I feel a strong hand on my shoulder and this distinct voice asking, "What's Going On?"
How can you possibly replace a good friend that had become a great source of respect and admiration? By keeping his memory alive in as many ways as possible, I guess.
