Ralph Tomasian Obituary

Visit the Chapman Funerals & Cremations - Harwich website to view the full obituary.
The world has lost a wonderful man, Ralph Tomasian, who ended his hard-fought battle with Parkinson's Disease on November 10, 2025. His son Ken was by his side as he passed and his life partner for 40 years, Pamela Myers, provided constant support as he fought his battle.

Ralph grew up in Worcester and Brookfield, Massachusetts with his two siblings, Thomas and Eleanor. He graduated from Clark University and Tufts before beginning a long and compassionate career in dentistry. He cared deeply for his patients, treating the whole person and earning a reputation for kindness and genuine concern. Patients waiting for appointments often mentioned how much they loved going to see him, a reflection of the warmth and humor he brought into every exam room. He often joked that he was "a fisherman who practiced dentistry as a hobby," a nod to both his humility and his love for the water.

Ralph found his greatest joy near the ocean, fishing, sharing jokes, and enjoying simple moments with the people he loved. His favorite pastime aside from fishing was "shed-ing." He loved spending time in his waterfront shed on Parker's River, especially when lobster rolls and champagne were added. He cherished time with family and took pride in his grandchildren: Noah, Alia, Eden, and Cole.

He is survived by his son Ken (Ewa); his brother Tom (Martha); his sister Eleanor Vanetziane (Dick); his stepchildren Jamie (Maj), Nathaniel (Andresa), and Caitlin (Alex); and many beloved nieces and nephews. His nieces, Lauren (Tim) and Elise, and nephew Tom provided constant support throughout his struggle with Parkinson's. He also leaves behind a cherished generation of grand-nieces and grand-nephews-Tommy (4), Osana, Marisa, Lindsey, Eli, Evan (Jenny), Ian, Aaron, Eve, Matt, Adam, Amy, and Lucy-all of whom brought him joy and held a special place in his heart.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to The Decatur House, Harbour Pointe, and the staff of Broadreach Hospice (especially Erin, Jenna, and Kevin) for their kind and compassionate care during Ralph's final stage of life.

Ralph will be cremated, honoring his wishes. Calling hours will be held on Friday, December 12th, from 3–5 PM at Chapman Funerals & Cremations, Blute Chapel, 678 Main St. Harwich Center.

As Ralph loved to say, "I'm just passing through. See you on the other side." We all loved the wonderful man that Ralph was.

Memorial contributions may be sent to

Cape Cod Commercial Fishermen's Alliance, Chatham, MA, a fitting tribute to a man who felt most at home on the water.
