Ramon Acosta

Ramon Acosta, age 95, passed away to join his beloved wife in eternal peace and rest on May 30, 2025. Ramon was born in Villa Lopez, Chihuahua, Mexico on January 26, 1930. His formal education was limited, attending one year of primary school. He married Rafaela Camargo on December 5, 1952. Ramon was a steelworker for ASARCO for 40 years working his way up the ladder until his retirement as a crane operator. Ramon was the quintessential provider ensuring that his wife and 6 children were never left wanting. This dedication to family and work provided us with our basic needs, and served to instill direction, confidence, strength and faith on his family.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years and his sons Rafael and Heriberto. He is survived by his remaining children Marta Alicia Martinez, Carlos Acosta, Ramon Acosta Jr., and Jose Luis Acosta. He was blessed with 13 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Rosary at 6:00 PM, Thursday June 12, 2025, at Sunset Funeral Home - East, 750. N. Carolina Drive. Funeral Mass will be held Friday, June 13, 2025 at 10:00 AM at St. Paul The Apostle Catholic Church, located at 7424 Mimosa Ave. Cremation and Graveside Service to follow at a date yet to be determined at Mt. Carmel Cemetery at 401 S. Zaragoza Rd, El Paso, Texas.
