Ramon Camacho Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 10, 2008.
-Ramon Ochoa Camacho quietly passed away on December 10, 2008 in the loving arms of his family in Phoenix, Arizona. He was 77 years old. Ramon was born on October 23, 1931 to the late Jesus and Manuela Camacho in Pirtleville, Arizona. Ramon is survived by his wife of 55 years, Irma, his brothers Mike Camacho (Sally) and Joe Camacho, his sisters Margie Estrepo (Miguel), Angie Leon (Juan), and Nellie Cornejo. Also surviving are his sons, Ray Camacho, Jr. (Carol), Jesse Camacho, Steve Camacho and Daughters, Patricia Camacho, Susan Gongora, Anabell Garcia, Cecilia Langham (Dewey) and Michelle Hurtado (Eddie). Ramon is also survived by 22 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren, which he had the great pleasure of meeting and holding every single one. Preceded in death were his Sisters Katie Garcia and Rosa Camacho. -Ramon enlisted in the United States Army on July 24th, 1950 and served as a Military Police Man during the Korean Conflict, earning the Korean Service Medal with three bronze stars, the United Nations Service Medal and the Occupation Medal for his service in Tokyo, Japan. Ramon was honorably discharged in 1953. -On September 13, 1956, Ramon married Irma Franco of Agua Prieta, Sonora Mexico in Bisbee, Arizona. -God looked around his garden, and He found an empty place. And then He looked down upon the earth, and saw your tired face. He put His arms around you, and lifted you to rest. God's garden must be beautiful, He always takes the best. He knew that you were suffering, He knew you were in pain, He knew that you would never get well on earth again. He saw the road was getting rough, and the hills were hard to climb, so He closed your weary eyelids, whispered "Peace be thine.'' I love you Viejo…..We will miss you.
