Ramon Miguel Lopez

Ramon passed on into eternal life on June 20, 2023 in Santa Paula.
Ramon was born September 29, 1957, in Ventura California, together with his twin brother- Carmelo de Jesus who lived only a couple of days. s. They were the second and third sons of Pedro A. Lopez and Rosa Jimenez Lopez, who together with his younger brother Alejandro Lopez preceded Ramon in death Ramon is survived by Rev. Pedro Lopez Jr., and his Nieces- Hermelinda Lopez and Marissa Lopez Elkins and his nephew Alejandro Lopez Jr.
Ramon went to Sheridan Way School for kindergarten and Holy Cross School from first through eighth grades, Saint Bonaventure High School, and Ventura Community College.
Ramon was a talented artist and musician. He used his talents in ways that contributed to various community projects. He formed, played, and sang in several musical groups, singing traditional Mexican music. Ramon loved his Mexican heritage and helped others to learn about it and celebrate it in song, music and art. He was a strong supporter of Bell Arts Factory, as they were about supporting multicultural arts education programs in collaboration with schools and other private agencies and individuals. Ramon used his artistic talents and supported himself by restoring and painting classic cars, some of which won prizes in local and regional contests.
Ramon loved to celebrate life and made lots of friends as he collaborated with them in the community. His sense of humor and lightheartedness won him many lifelong friends. He loved to play his guitar and would often serenade family and friends, and before you knew it, his friends would gather around and join in and have a wonderful jam session.
Ramon was the companion and caretaker for his mother Rosa, who lived to be 101(almost 102) years old. He took loving and compassionate care of her and helped her make the best of her final years of life. Ramon survived her by only 7 months, having succumbed to organ failure due to a long-time illness.
Funeral services for Ramon will be:
Vigil and Rosary on July 11 at 7:00 p.m., at Joseph Reardon Mortuary on Main Street in Ventura.
Funeral Mass will be on July 12 at 10:00 a.m., at Old Mission San Buenaventura followed by internment at Santa Clara Cemetery in Oxnard.
Reception following Mass and burial at the Knights of Columbus Hall across the street from the Old Mission.

Ramón nació el 29 de septiembre de 1957 en Ventura, California, junto con su hermano gemelo, Carmelo de Jesús, que vivió solo un par de días. s. Fueron el segundo y tercer hijo de Pedro A. López y Rosa Jiménez López, quienes junto con su hermano menor Alejandro López precedieron a Ramón en la muerte. A Ramón le sobreviven el reverendo Pedro López Jr., y sus sobrinas, Hermelinda López y Marissa López Elkins y su sobrino Alejandro López Jr.
Ramón fue a Sheridan Way School para kinder y Holy Cross School de primero a octavo grado, Saint Bonaventure High School y Ventura Community College.
Ramón fue un talentoso artista y músico. Utilizó sus talentos de maneras que contribuyeron a varios proyectos comunitarios. El formó, tocó y cantó en varios grupos musicales, cantando música tradicional mexicana. Ramón amaba su herencia mexicana y ayudó a otros a aprender sobre ella y celebrarla en canciones, música y arte. Fue un firme partidario de Bell Arts Factory, ya que se trataba de apoyar programas multiculturales de educación artística en colaboración con escuelas y otras agencias privadas e individuos.
Utilizó sus talentos artísticos y se mantuvo restaurando y pintando autos clásicos, algunos de los cuales ganaron premios en concursos locales y regionales.
A Ramón le encantaba celebrar la vida e hizo muchos amigos mientras colaboraba con ellos en la comunidad. Su sentido del humor y su alegría le ganaron muchos amigos para toda la vida. Le encantaba tocar su guitarra y a menudo daba serenatas a familiares y amigos, y antes de que te dieras cuenta, sus amigos se reunían y se unían y tenían una maravillosa sesión de improvisación.
Ramón fue el compañero y cuidador de su madre Rosa, que vivió hasta los 101 (casi 102) años. Él la cuidó amorosa y compasivamente y la ayudó a sacar lo mejor de sus últimos años de vida. Ramón le sobrevivió solo 7 meses, después de haber sucumbido a una insuficiencia orgánica debido a una enfermedad de larga data.

Vigilia y Rosario el 11 de julio a las 7:00 p.m., en Joseph Reardon Mortuary en Main Street en Ventura.
La misa de funeral será el 12 de julio a las 10:00 a.m., en Old Mission San Buenaventura, seguida del internamiento en el cementerio de Santa Clara en Oxnard.
Recepción después de la misa y entierro en el Salón de Caballeros de Colón al otro lado de la calle de la Antigua Misión.
