MERCEDES - On March 26, 2026, our beloved Ramon Martinez Jr., a cherished husband, son, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 49 in Weslaco, TX. Born on July 15, 1976, in San Antonio, TX, Ramon lived a life characterized by kindness, laughter, and an unwavering dedication to his family.
Ramon was a man of simple pleasures, finding joy in the camaraderie of family gatherings and the excitement of watching his favorite football team, the Dallas Cowboys. He embraced life with a playful spirit, always ready with a joke that could light up the room. His vibrant personality and humble nature made him a beloved figure among his friends and family, who knew him as a generous helper and a source of unyielding support.
In his younger years, Ramon proudly participated in ROTC, demonstrating his commitment and discipline, traits that he carried throughout his life. Though he faced challenges as a disabled individual, he approached life with resilience and grace, never losing sight of the joy that comes from giving back to others.
Ramon is preceded in death by his father Ramon Martinez, Sr.
Ramon is survived by his loving wife, Mary Valdiviez, and his daughter Destiny (Cole) Mangum, Raomon is also survived by his mother Virginia Martinez, 4 sisters and 2 brothers.
His legacy of love and laughter will be cherished by all who knew him, and he will be deeply missed.
In this time of sorrow, let us remember Ramon for the laughter he shared and the kindness he imparted to all.
As per Ramon's wishes, a cremation will take place at a later date.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Dr. Joseph Conde and staff at Serenity Funeral Chapels located on 1401 E. Santa Rosa Ave Edcouch, Texas 78538.
