Ramon Antonio Obando Flores was born in Managua, Nicaragua, on January 31, 1963. Born into a family of twelve ((12) including Ramon), he went to college in Nicaragua and received his associate's degree. He also served in the Nicaraguan military.
Ramon lived much of his life in Nicaragua until he moved to the United States in September of 1992 with a pastor. It was six (6) years later, in 1999, when Ramon met his beloved wife, Johana Obando, in Miami, Florida. Ramon was very passionate about his job. He worked tirelessly at Passion Growers for almost three (3) decades.
Ramon had a heart surrendered to the Lord filled with grace, humility, love, selflessness, and generosity. Ramon was a father to the fatherless, a brother to his friends, and a man with no enemies. He was a hard worker, an overachiever, and a problem solver in every aspect. Ramon was filled with love and wisdom that he would pour into everyone he met. Ramon was compassionate and intentional with everyone in his life. He would listen actively and generously to anyone who needed an ear or advice. Ramon was an accountable and responsible man. He took ownership of all his choices and decisions even when he failed or made a mistake. Ramon showed everyone what true humility looked like in man. He was a great representation of Christ to many, especially his family.
Ramon cared for people. It didn't matter who you were, where you were from, or how long he knew you; he cared for everyone the same. He loved to serve and help his family, neighborhood, community, city, and home country in any way possible. Ramon was a man content in Christ. It didn't matter if he had little or plenty; he put his family and others before himself.
Partnered with his wife, Ramon would feed and clothe people in need. In their obedience and love for Jesus Christ, they started a church together in their home country, and many were blessed.
Ramon's all-time dream was to buy a car in Nicaragua and go from one end of the country to the other, preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all who would listen and believe. He would meet the needs of the people, blessing them with food, clothes, and resources, all in the name of Jesus Christ.
The family of Ramon Antonio Obando Flores wishes to express their most profound appreciation and sincere thanks for all the acts of kindness shown to them in their time of sorrow.
In Ramon's passing, he is survived by his wife, Johana Obando. His children: Wendy, Karen, Johanna, and Samuel. His seven grandchildren: Gretchen, Laureen, Rodrigo, Katherine, Adonis, Johan, and Raquel.
He was an exceptional man, a remarkable husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, grandfather, friend, neighbor, and most of all, Christian.
