Memorial services for Rance Eugene Morgan III, a life-long resident of Leland, will be held Tuesday, January24, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Leland. He died Saturday, January 21 at his home. Services are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home.
Rance was born to the late Rance Eugene Morgan Jr. and Thelma Burt Morgan on August 1, 1951 in Greenville, MS. Rance married his high school sweetheart, Druanne Woollard, of Leland on December 10, 1971. Rance and Druanne started their family in Leland and Rance began his rewarding and diverse career in Agriculture that involved farming. Later on, Rance would work with Scott Petroleum and aid in the expansion of the company to three states including Arkansas, Louisiana, and Mississippi. While working with Scott Petroleum, he partnered with Jimmy Shaw, a local fire marshal, and together they would create and patent a "leak detection device" for the propane industry. They would go on to form a manufacturing company, Presto Tap, for the nationwide distribution of the safety device that
would save countless lives.
Known as "Daddy Rance" to his nearest friends and "Poppa" to his grandchildren, he loved his family and friends tremendously. His children and grandchildren adored him. Rance and Druanne enjoyed many trips with friends over the years. Rance treasured his time with his children and grandchildren making wonderful memories at Archer Island Hunting Camp. Rance was a member of First Baptist Church of Greenville. Daddy Rance leaves a legacy of generosity to his friends and all that knew him, faith for his family, and love for all who knew him best, especially his wife, children, and grandchildren.
Rance was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Druanne of 51 years; his children, Rance Eugene Morgan IV (Anna Mauceli) and Marney Dees (Paul); grandchildren, Rance Myers Morgan, Amelia Marie "Mia" Morgan, Max Anderson Morgan, Morgan Amelia Dees, and Madeline Dillard Dees; sisters, Patricia Stanton (Lin) and Dawn Bowling (Derrin), and a brother, Craig Morgan (Teresa).
Serving as honorary pallbearers are Paul Courson, Richard Taylor, Mike Payne, Butch Palasini, Xan Robertson, Frank Greenlee, Robert Holland, David Steen, Martin Flanagan, Emile Petro and Guy Pearson.
A visitation will be held one hour before the services at the church on Tuesday. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research or to a favorite charity.

I worked with Scott Petroleum several years ago and I grew to appreciate Rance then. He was a very strong man and leader. He will be missed by several people. Fly high buddy
