Randy Evans, age 69, of Loveland Colorado, passed away at home on Tuesday, November 5th.
Though Randy has lived in northern Colorado since 2000, he was born on June 12, 1955 in rural Rice County, Kansas. Randy was the first of four children born to Dale and Ruth Evans.
Randy graduated from Lyons High School (Lyons, Kansas) in 1973 and went on to receive his Bachelor's Degree in Journalism from Fort Hays State University in 1977.
While Randy's professional pursuits were in the field of advertising sales and marketing, his true love was spending time with his family (especially his two sons), enjoying cars and all things automotive (a trait that he passed down to his oldest son, Walker) and sharing his amazing singing talent and love of music (a trait that is shared by his youngest son, Creighton).
While Randy chose to make northern Colorado his home, he never forgot his deep rural Kansas roots and remained closely tied to the farm and family that made him proud to be from Lyons, Kansas.
Randy had a deep and abiding faith and was active in multiple churches and men's groups in Loveland. His love for the Lord gives his family great comfort in knowing that he now dwells with his Heavenly Father as well as the father who raised him on earth.
Randy is preceded in death by his father, Dale Evans. Randy is survived by his two sons, Walker and Creighton (Elizabeth) Evans of Loveland, his mother Ruth Evans of Lyons, Kansas, a sister Jan (Scott) Berghaus of Kansas City, brother Link (Tracey) Evans of The Woodlands, Texas, and sister Lori (Lynn) Stucky of Denton, Texas, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service and celebration of Randy's life will take place on Monday, November 25th at 11:30 AM at Viegut Funeral Home in Loveland Colorado. Randy's final resting place will be next to his father at Lyons Municipal Cemetery, Lyons, Kansas. The family is planning a service and burial to take place on June 9th, 2025 for Kansas friends and family to attend. Details for this service will be made available once solidified.
