Randall Kelley Obituary

Randall (Randy) Lee Kelley, 67, of Milford, Michigan passed away on Friday, Dec. 12, 2025, after a courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. Randy was born on Sept. 29, 1958, in Jackson, Mich. and grew up in Coldwater, Mich.

As a natural-born leader, Randy was proud of his 40 plus year career in healthcare, the last 25 as president/CEO of hospitals in Michigan, Ohio, Tennessee, Virginia, North Carolina and California. Many of his former hospital colleagues have become dear friends while several others describe Randy as "The best boss they ever had." He was president of Gateway Hospital from 2000 to 2006.

Randy was compassionate, loyal, intelligent, generous, kind and he loved to laugh. He was a proud University of Michigan graduate and die-hard UM football fan. Even after moving from Michigan, Saturday fall afternoons found him in the Big House cheering on the Wolverines after a delicious and often rowdy tail-gate gathering with friends. Randy also held a Master's degree from the University of Minnesota.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Kathy; his beautiful daughter Allison (John) Newman; precious grandsons, Jude and Maxwell of Knoxville, Tennessee; his mother Joan Kelley; and his siblings and their families: Mike (Carol) Kelley, Sharon (Curt) Mock, Norma (Phil) Barber, Karen (Jack) Newman, and Patrick (Tracy) Kelley, all of Coldwater, Mich.

He was preceded in death by his father, Norm Kelley; a niece, Michalla Renee' Kelley; his grandparents; and several aunts and uncles.

A Celebration of Randy's Life will be held in Clarksville at First Presbyterian Church at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to First Presbyterian Church of Clarksville, Loaves and Fishes (loaveandfishestn.org), The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research (michaeljfox.org) or a charity of your choice.

To honor Randy, please perform an act of kindness and compassion today and every day, just as he often did.

My sincere condolences to Kathy, Allison, and family, my thoughts and prayers are with you. It is with great sadness that I learned of Randy's passing. I was fortunate to have the privilege to work with Randy several times at many of the organizations that he led.
Randy, an exceptional leader and mentor, a man who always focused on the greater good and led the organizations, his teams, and the communities he served with compassion and humility. I, as many others, learned a tremendous amount from Randy! I have great memories from our conversations! Randy was a loyal friend and colleague to so many, and he will be greatly missed! Rest in Peace Randy, your resilience and courage reminded us of what true strength looks like, even in the face of life's greatest challenges.

I just learned of Randy´s death yesterday. My memories of him are all positive; many of them make me laugh out loud. We worked together at Bixby Medical Center in the 1980s when he was VP of HR. He liked to work hard, have fun; he was kind and always fair. Randy was the best boss I ever had and lead by example. My sincere condolences to Kathy, Allison and the entire family. Randy was one of the good guys. May he Rest in Peace.

Kathy and Allison, my most sincere condolences on Randy´s passing. I´ll always cherish the great times we had together on our trips to visit you in Virginia and Tennessee and the time spent together when Allison and I were younger. I fondly look back on the Saturdays at the Big House that Randy was generous enough to invite me to. I know the last few years were hard with his illness, and he is in a better place now. Randy was a great man and I will continue to remember him that way. All the best to you during this sad time.

With love, Greg Mancina

So many great memories of Randy, Kathy and Allison during their time in Adrian, MI. Randy was a compassionate funny gentleman, with a fierce love of his family and U of M. We often teased him, since we were MSU fans. Rest easy Randy. Kathy and Allison always know how deeply he loved you both. Lots of love Bruce, David and Sue Goldsen

So saddened by this great loss. I have such fond memories of Mr. Kelley growing up with Allison- He became a member of our family when he lived with us when he first moved to Clarksville to work at the hospital. I learned then that he was such a kind, and loving person. One of my favorite memories was all of us hanging out laughing to Monty Python shows and later quoting or favorite lines all night. Prayers of comfort and thankful that he is no longer suffering.
