Randall Mince Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bussell Family Funerals - Carmel on Jul. 2, 2024.
Randall "Randy" Mince had a love and fascination with numbers. One in particular...the number 25.
Randy's life began in Bethpage, Tennessee, on Wednesday, July 25, 1951, in a home he shared with parents Floyd and Lovie, and older brother Larry. A few years and a few hundred miles later, Randy's younger siblings, Jimmy and Joanne, entered the picture in Kokomo, Indiana. Thus, beginning a new branch of the Mince family tree.
As a graduate of the 1969 class at Kokomo High School, Randy continued his education at Indiana University, receiving his bachelor's degree with a focus on accounting, where his passion for numbers was finally realized and rewarded!
A short time after Randy's 25th birthday, he welcomed his son, Craig, into the world on the 25th day of May 1977. From that point on, the two best friends would become inseparable, regularly seen patrolling the streets of Carmel, Indiana, with a short stint in Plainfield, frequenting all manner of movie theaters, golf courses, video rental shops, and bookstores.
In the Summer of 1994, Randy would go on to purchase his dream home in Cicero, Indiana, making it his hometown for most of his life.
Randy worked his entire career in the commercial roofing industry as a credit analyst. Crunching numbers and making lifelong friends. He was the kind of person that would light up a room with his smile and charm.
All of that charm was no match for the joy he received becoming a grandfather, and new best friend, to Madeline in 2010. No, she was not born on the 25th of the month. Yes, he not-so- secretly wished she was.
Later on in life, Randy was diagnosed with early onset Parkinson's disease and began to slowly retreat to a life of quiet living and solitude in Cicero. Over all those years, however, he never stopped being Randy.
At 8 pm on the 24th day of June 2024, just 4 hours shy of completing what we can only imagine was his master plan, Randy Mince passed away peacefully. He had spent his final days surrounded by family and friends remembering a life well lived.
In addition to his parents, Randy was preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy Mince.
Survivors include son, Craig (Natalie) Mince; granddaughter, Madeline Mince; brother, Larry (Vicki) Mince, and sister, Joanne Lawrence.
Although Randy has given up his pursuit of the number 25, his family will maintain his passion by honoring him on his birthday, July 25th, with a Celebration of Life from 5pm - 8pm at Wolfies Grill in Noblesville, 20999 Hague Road #9015, Noblesville, IN 46062.
The family has asked that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Indiana Parkinson Foundation, https://www.indianaparkinson.org/donate-to-ipf/, and/or Rock Steady Boxing, https://www.rocksteadyboxing.org/donate/
