Randall Scott Webster

Randall Scott Webster, 68, of Whitehall, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Trinity Health Muskegon Campus. Born July 17, 1957, in Shelby, Michigan, Scott was the son of Richard and Delora (Deneke) Webster and spent the next 68 years making sure life was never boring for anyone around him.

Scott proudly served in the United States Navy as a boiler technician fireman until his honorable discharge in 1982. He carried the values of discipline and camaraderie with him throughout his life, and he was an active member of the American Legion Algot Johnson Post 69 in Whitehall.—where he could often be found ringing the bell, sharing laughs, stories, and probably a little harmless mischief.

After the Navy, Scott teamed up with his brother Brian to co-own Webco Excavating and tree service. Between the two of them, they played with their big boy toys, moved plenty of dirt, dropped a lot of trees, and built a reputation for working hard and helping anyone who needed it. If you had a problem, Scott probably showed up with a solution, a chainsaw, a joke and a beer.

Scott was known for his generosity, his loyalty, and a personality that could fill a room before he even walked in. He had a playful spirit and believed that if you liked someone, the best way to show it was with a well-timed prank. Many friends and family members are still suspicious of random noises, misplaced tools, and other mysterious events that may or may not have had Scott’s fingerprints on them.

He leaves behind his significant other of 25 years, Ivy Jeffery; his daughter, Heather Jeffery; six grandchildren—Justyn, Coree, Tylar, Kaiden, Tobey, and Wyatt; and 4 great grandchildren—who will grow up hearing plenty of stories about Grandpa Scott and wondering how many of them are actually true.

Scott is also survived by his sister, Linda Herman; sister-in-law, Karen Gheller; brother-in-law, Norman St. Andrew; Aunt Pat Deneke; nephew Richard Webster; 3 nieces, Katie (Emma) Webster, Miranda English and Hilary (Kirk) Souza; great-nephew, Gage Souza; cousins Carol Ann (Terry) Deneke, Dana (Jessie) Deneke, Michael Deneke, Danny (Pam) Deneke, Karen Dean, Clinton Lee (Rose) Deneke, and David Webster; and dear friends Dale and Siva Harris, and Dan and Sally Holland, who were all lucky enough to experience Scott’s friendship—and probably his pranks—firsthand.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Delora Webster; his brothers Brian and Linden Webster; his sister Deanna St. Andrew; Uncle Clinton Deneke. He was also welcomed on the other side by his dear friend Freddie Knapp. One can only imagine the reunion—and the trouble they’re already causing.

A memorial celebrating Scott’s life will be held Sunday, April 12, 2026, from 1:00pm to 3:00pm, with military honors at approximately 2:00 PM, at the American Legion Algot Johnson Post 69, 803 E. Colby Street, Whitehall, MI. Come share a story, raise a glass, and maybe keep an eye on your belongings—Scott would’ve wanted it that way.

Scott’s spirit, sense of humor, and unforgettable personality will live on in the stories told by everyone lucky enough to know him.
