Randall C. White, age 70, of Crooks, SD, passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at the Sioux Falls VA Health Care Hospice Cottage in Sioux Falls.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, July 31, 2025 at 10:30 AM at West Nidaros Lutheran Church, rural Crooks, SD with Rev. Jared Rakness officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Rest Cemetery in Rushmore, MN.
Visitation with family present will be 5-7 pm on Wednesday, July 30th at the church.
Randall Curtis White was born February 25, 1955 at Worthington Hospital in Worthington, MN. to Ward E. White and Phyllis J. (Holm) White. He attended school in Worthington, MN. until his parents moved to Mason City, IA where he graduated from Northwood-Kensitt High School in Northwood, IA, in 1973.
In the summer of 1973, he enlisted in the United States Army. He met his wife to be in December of 1973 and they were married shortly after on January 18, 1974, on post in a chapel on base in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Randy was honorably discharged in June of 1975. Randy and Eunice then moved back to South Dakota. To that marriage they had three daughters, Beth, Heide, and Laura.
They lived in Crooks until most of their children were grown up and later purchased an acreage near Crooks where they lived another 20 years.
Randy attended Augustana College and graduated with a Business Administration degree. While attending College, he started White Insurance Agency, Inc, owned and operated by Randy and his wife, Eunice. This business continued for 40 years at which time he sold it.
Randy was a hard worker and put himself whole-heartedly in everything he did whether it was work or play. He was a very caring, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He enjoyed pheasant hunting and made many friends in Colome, SD. He enjoyed his friends and watching his golden retrievers make him proud. Randy was a member of the Crooks Optimist Club and the Crooks Development Corporation.
He is survived by his wife, Eunice F. White of Crooks, SD; and daughters, Beth (Eric) Carlson) of Crooks, SD, Heide A. (Matt) Gedney of Sioux Falls, SD; and Laura J. White of Crooks, SD; and six grandchildren.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Ward and Phyllis White; sister, Sharon K. Vorce of Worthing, SD; and brother, Gary E. White of Waverly, Kansas.
