Randolph Lone "Randy" Fight

Randolph "Randy" Lone Fight, 72 of Mandaree, ND passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2024, in Springfield, MO.
Randy was born on January 17, 1952, in Watford City, ND to Theodore Jr. (Dizzen) Lone Fight and Maybelle (Good Bird) Lone Fight. He was a Water Buster Clan and a child of a Low Cap Clan.
Randy was a loner most of his life, traveling here and there. And never settling down enough in one place long enough to get an Indian name and we all knew that. Well one time when Randy was home Mother Izzy Good Bird said to my mother Maybelle Good Bird-Lone Fight, where is Four Eyes name come from? And she meant Randy, so my mother said now Randy has a Hidatsa name Four Eyes given by Izzy so that is how Randy got his name. Randy was a wild man but cool enough, he lived in life's wild side. One time my dad told me lets go to Montana to see Randy when we got there first Randy said was good for coming after me, I did not want to die in a foreign country. Randy always made his horse run as fast as they can all the time. Uncle/father Bernard Mandan the ONLY MAN would say Randy is a real horse killer and good cowboy, not afraid of anything man or beast. Randy spent time working for many local ranchers, i.e. the Fredericks, Murphys, Fettig's Chase, Benny Baye, TU Ranch, Randy was fluent speaker of our Hidatsa language. 'Four Eyes' leaves no children or heirs behind. Go Four Eyes ride that spooky steed into the Spirit world; at top speed my older brother.
One last story about Four Eyes, Randy Lone Fight: one hot summer day long age we were all sitting outside the front door and we didn't have much food and not meat, and a deer walked into our field about 500 yards or more away, Randy Lone Fight Four Eyes said I have just one bullet left, and I might miss. My mother Maybelle "Pink Shell" said let me shoot and of course she killed it; so, we all ran to catch our horses Randy was the first. Pulled the dead deer back by the house. And before we knew it the meat was boiling, mother Isabelle Good Bird was making skillet bread and cowboy coffee, we ate good that evening.

Randy was loved so much by his family. He was humorous and loved to tell stories. He will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his sisters, Sharron Lone Fight and Tanya Lone Fight, brothers, Edward Lone Fight, Peter Lone Fight, and Theodore "Ted" (Sherry) Lone Fight III.
Preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Doris and Gloria Lone Fight, Lorna Ceynar, and Joan Lone Fight, brothers, Reynolds Dale Lone Fight, Randall and Casey Lone Fight, by his many friends who went before him.
