RANDOLPH SVEC, age 80, beloved husband for 57 years of Elizabeth (nee Ellis); loving father of Susan and Jessica Svec; devoted grandfather of Kai, Kane, and Kirk Stevens; cherished son of the late Emil and Mary Frances (nee Scarce). U.S. Coast Guard Veteran.
Randy was born on July 22, 1944 in East Cleveland, OH. He was a 1963 graduate of East High School and further continued his education to become a computer programmer. After graduating, Randy enlisted in the US Coast Guard and spent a lot of time in Maine, where he met the love of his life, Elizabeth. Some of Randy’s favorite moments were sailing off the coast of Maine and in Lake Erie with his wife and playing chess with his grandson. When not sailing or playing chess, he could be found watching classic movies or working on a home project. Those that knew him would describe him as a caring and industrious person who had a gift when working with his hands.
He was a member of the Lions Club and volunteered much of his time over the last 40 years. He was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Willoughby.
He will truly be missed by all who knew him.
Special thanks to friends Jack Richards, Ron Howitz and Joe Vincius who provided him with much laughter through the years.
