Beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, Mark Anthony “Randy” Anuskiewicz, age 65, of Avon Lake, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2026, at Avon Place Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Avon, under the care of Sincere Hospice.
Born on August 8, 1960, in Lorain, with Down Syndrome, he lived a life full of love, simple joys, and unwavering affection for his family. Randy attended the Murray Ridge Workshop, lived in Florida for many years, and loved Elvis Presley.
From a young age, Randy cherished spending time with his family, sharing countless happy moments together and creating cherished memories that the family will hold dear forever.
He proudly participated in the International Special Olympics held at Soldier Field in 1968, where he won three gold medals in swimming competitions. His athletic achievements and competitive spirit were a source of pride for him and his family throughout his life.
Randy is survived by his siblings: Jane Tully, Mary Asbury, and John Anuskiewicz. He will be deeply missed by his extended family and all who knew his gentle spirit and kind heart.
He was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Josephine (nee Malinowski) Anuskiewicz; brothers, Norbert Anuskiewicz, Robert Anuskiewicz, Edward Anuskiewicz Jr., and Ronald Anuskiewicz; and sisters, Jean Dean and Linda Steinberg.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 28, 2025, from noon to 2:00 p.m. at Dovin Funeral and Cremation Specialists, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Randy’s memory to the National Down Syndrome Society, 1155 15th Street NW Suite 540, Washington, DC 20005.
