Randy Lee Gilbert, born on May 4, 1979, in Porterville, California, passed away on January 12, 2026. He is survived by his beloved spouse, Latanya Jake, and their cherished son, Rhodry Gilbert. Randy dedicated his life to his family and was especially passionate about being a devoted father. Some of his most treasured memories include the births of his children and the pride he felt as Rhodry graduated high school on June 13, 2025.
Randy had a wide array of interests, which included reading avidly, cooking delicious meals, and collecting comic books, knives, sneakers, and survival gear. He had a unique appreciation for art, as demonstrated by his passion for getting tattoos. Randy enjoyed watching new and exciting series, particularly those in the horror genre, often sharing these moments with loved ones. He also committed himself to complete wildland firefighting classes and proudly joined the Horseshoe Meadows hotshot fire crew.
In addition to his many accomplishments, Randy's determination shone through when he successfully quit smoking over 10 years ago. His nurturing spirit extended beyond his family, as he took joy in spoiling his pets, embodying his caring nature.
Randy was preceded in death by: Roy Gilbert, Jackie Gilbert, Cali Gilbert.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 2, 2026. A graveside service will take place at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, 924 Menaul Blvd NE - Albuquerque, at 11:30 a.m., immediately following a funeral service at FRENCH - Westside Chapel at 10:00 a.m. A reception will be held at the FRENCH - Westside Reception Room at 1:00 p.m. that same day.
Randy Lee Gilbert will be remembered for his warm heart, vibrant spirit, and love for his family.
