Randyll A. "Randy" Kern

Randyll A. "Randy" Kern, 73, of New Castle, passed away Monday, November 13, 2023 at I.U. Ball Memorial Hospital. He was born April 4, 1950 in New Castle, a son of the late Lloyd Randyll and Hyacinth (Cain) Kern.

Randy was an employee with Wooten Roofing for many years, and also worked at Grede Foundry in New Castle for several years. A Hot-Rod enthusiast, he built raced hot rods for several years, including at Muncie Raceway and Indianapolis Raceway Park.

Survivors include his son, Randyll Wade Kern of New Castle; grandson, Kaulin Kern; granddaughter, Allison Kern, both of New Castle; four great grandchildren; three sisters, Diane Blankenship of New Castle, Elaine Addison of New Castle, and Sheila Sidwell of Celina, TN; two brothers, Clarence (Linda) Kern of New Castle and David (Susan) Kern of Burkesville, KY; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Kathy Ann Kern in 2008; a sister, Carolyn Sorrell; two brothers, Ronald Kern and Stephen Kern, and a nephew, Robert Allen Sidwell.

A Celebration of Life visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 17, 2023 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Burial will follow at South Mound Cemetery. You may share condolences and memories of Randy at www.hinsey-brown.com .
