Ranier Nicolaas Nooteboom

Ranier Nicolaas Nooteboom, a dedicated husband, father, and entrepreneur, passed away on December 13, 2025, in Overland Park, Kansas. Born on February 6, 1943, in Rotterdam, Holland, Ranier exemplified resilience hard work throughout his life.

Ranier received a Bachelor’s Degree, after which he became the Owner/Operator of an Orthopedic Sales Company. His commitment to his profession demonstrated not only his expertise but also his passion for helping others through his work in healthcare.

In addition to his professional achievements, Ranier proudly served in the Army National Guard reserves, embodying a spirit of duty and service that marked much of his life. His military service instilled in him values of discipline and determination.

Ranier had a profound love for the outdoors, which was evident in his hobbies and interests. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, finding joy and solace in nature. He also enjoyed spending time at his Lake of the Ozarks lake home and watching his grandchildren participate in their many events. These activities not only offered him a retreat but also provided him with cherished moments spent with family and friends.

Ranier was preceded in death by his parents Nick Nooteboom and Tina VerKaik Nooteboom O’Brien, step-father John O’Brien and his brother, Sam Nooteboom. He is survived by his beloved wife, Ann Brant Nooteboom, and his daughter April Nooteboom Mezger (Tim) of Leawood, son Jarrod Nooteboom (Emily) and a nephew Jason Nooteboom (Shari) all of Overland Park. He is also survived by his brother Pete Nooteboom (Kentucky), and his grandchildren Hannah N, Clay N, Avery N, Sawyer M and Maryn M. He is also survived by four other nephews, two nieces, his exchange family in Norway and several cousins in many different states/countries who will all remember him fondly.

As we remember Ranier, we reflect on a life built on dedication, service, and the love of family. His legacy will undoubtedly continue through the lives he touched and the memories cherished by those who knew him.
