Raphael L. "Ray" Laverty

Hollandale / Dodgeville - Raphael L. "Ray" Laverty, age 80 of Hollandale / Dodgeville passed away peacefully on Friday, September 26, 2025 at the New Glarus Home. He was born on August 5, 1945 the son of Leo and Isabel (Kitsemble) Laverty. Ray graduated from Dodgeville High School in 1964 and later attended the Agriculture short course in Madison. He operated the family farm for many years. He drove school bus for the Dodgeville School District and also drove a tour bus for the Frank Lloyd Wright at Taliesin. He owned Laverty Trucking and drove truck through out Wisconsin. Ray also worked for Lands End for several years. He enjoyed hunting and teaching the aspects about hunting to his cousin girls and spending time on the farm. He is survived by cousins; David Doyle, Teresa (Jim) Rosenberger, Jeff Kitsemble and Jim Kitsemble and many relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother John and aunts, uncles and cousins. Memorial Services will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the GORGEN-McGINLEY & AYERS FUNERAL HOME in Dodgeville. Fr Tafadzwa Kushamba will officiate. Burial will be in St Joseph's Cemetery in Dodgeville.
