Raquel Torrez Acosta, 61, of Sundown passed from this life on April 3, 2023. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, April 6, 2023, at Krestridge Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, April 7, 2023, in the Krestridge Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Sundown Cemetery.
She was born March 6, 1962 in Miami, Florida to Esther (Peralez) and Librado Torrez, Sr. Raquel married the love of her life, Elias Acosta, on March 10, 2007. They were together for 27 years. She was a business owner and helped run the family restaurant in Sundown for a very long time.
Raquel enjoyed playing softball from a very young age with her mother and sisters, as well as multiple family members. She loved to be outdoors camping, fishing, bike rallies and playing cards. Raquel lived for her grandkids, who could do no wrong in her eyes.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Librado and Esther Torrez.
Raquel is survived by her husband, Elias "Coaster" Acosta, Jr. of Sundown; children, Luis Torrez Lopez of Sundown, Jerry (Shanna) Lopez of Tennessee, Michael (April) Lopez of Louisiana, Julian (Oscar) Lopez of Sundown, Donna (Dustin) Rogers of Sundown, Kayla (Emilio) Vidales of Levelland and Marivel Acosta-Lopez; siblings, Esther Martinez, Eddie Torrez, Kathy DeLeon, Mary O'Canas, Irene Herrera and Librado Torrez, Jr.; 22 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of the professionals at Krestridge Funeral Home.
