You've been my brother since middle school, walking around MLK, having fun, and enjoying life together. Knowing you're gone really messes with my head because I was just with you, talking about what we were doing in our lives and how we were moving forward. I was so proud that my little brother was making better choices for himself. But now you're gone, and life doesn´t feel right without you, Brodie. We all miss you. You held a special place in all our hearts, no matter how big or small. I miss you, Brodie. It hurts that you´re not with us anymore.

I do apologize in advance for sending my condolences late, as I absolutely had no idea about what happened now. A friend of his brother, Shannon, had told me the news as I was at work. Me and Rasheed knew each other since elementary school. And even if we were not the closest, I always respected him. He has never shown me any ill feelings unlike others, and even when we were not together, he always greeted me with respect. I miss my dear friend. Even as a young boy he was the smartest kid. He dreamed of one day playing for the Dallas Cowboys. That is the one thing he never changed about himself. He used to tease about how the commanders (previously the redskins) would always lose to D.C (cowboys). And the very reason he'd say D.C is because of where he was from, and he took pride in that. Words can never mend the loss of my friend. I cannot begin to imagine how his family must be feeling. I always like to imagine how he would have changed the NFL with his skills. The last time I ever saw my friend was in the summer. He greeted me with open arms and expressed how nice it was to see me again. We briefly spoke about many topics including sports and what he would do in the fall of 2024. He was just 18. I will miss Rasheed Davis. Until we meet again, my friend, I must say goodbye. I will always see a little bit of privacy of you in your little brother. I hope he makes you proud.

Rasheed has always had a special place in my heart since I was his teacher in third grade. He had an infectious smile and sense of humor. I was able to tell him how proud I was of him upon his graduation and he told me all about his post HS plans. I am heartbroken he is gone! But will never be forgotten!!
