George Dukes was born in Newton, Mississippi, to the parents of Clarence Lee Dukes and Georgia Heard-Dukes. He was a beloved, devoted, and cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. George never met a stranger. He showed love to everyone he met. He was a skilled swimmer who once rescued a drowning friend. He was able to bring his friend to safety and provide CPR. As a result, the friend's life was saved.
In 1970, he met the love of his life, Rensley Hames, and they were later married. On December 21, 1977, George legally changed his name to Rasul Muhammad. While residing in Dallas, Texas Rasul became a well-known, respected, and proficient automotive mechanic. Wherever he went, he always encountered someone he knew or someone whose vehicle he had worked on. He was employed at Texaco for several years until he and his brothers opened their own business, Dukes Auto Repair Shop, until he retired due to health challenges.
In 2010, Rasul returned to Christianity and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord & Savior under the leadership of the late Elijah Kelley Jr. He began to witness to others and tell them about the goodness of Jesus. He loved to praise the Lord and was an active participant in service. One of his favorite scriptures was Psalm 23.
