Ratanben Chhitubhai Patel

Ratanben Chhitubhai Patel, 83, of Anderson, SC, left us peacefully on Friday, February 20, 2026, surrounded by her beloved family members.

Born in Valsad, Gujarat, India to the late Dahyabhai Laxmanbhai and Dahiben Dahyabhai Patel.

A schoolteacher and homemaker whose sharp mind and quiet wisdom shaped the lives of all who knew her. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, "Dadi-ma (Diwali)", will always be remembered for her kindness to all, even strangers.

She was a soft-spoken, loving, and gentle soul whose warmth touched everyone she met, carrying herself with effortless style and a radiant, positive spirit. Deeply faith-filled and God-centered, she spoke of her love for God until her very last days, living each moment with grace and devotion. She spoke kindly of all, never giving anyone trouble or a hard time, and loved her family with a boundless and tender heart. She believed deeply in caring for herself and others, and expressed her vibrant love of life in the simple joys she cherished-keeping her hair beautifully done, her nails polished, caring lovingly for her skin, and delighting in the elegance of her jewelry-always with her heart open to everyone around her.

Dadi-ma (Diwali) is survived by her sons, Pradip and Bhupen, daughter in-law, Kalpana, as well as her grandchildren Anita, Dipika, Sunny, Ravi and Sonam (Cameron) and her great grandchildren, Chance and Leena Grace. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chhitubhai, and her daughter in-law, Leena.

The family will hold a private service for immediate family only.

In lieu of flowers, the family would suggest donations be made to the charity of one's choice.
