Ray Barnwell Obituary
Ray Nolan Barnwell, age 97, of Crossville, TN, passed away on October 16, 2025, at Cumberland Medical Center.
Mr. Barnwell was born on July 19, 1928, in Crossville, TN, son of the late Hairm Eddie Barnwell and Effie Laura (Brown) Barnwell.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Barnwell; daughter, Sharon Barnwell Smith; great granddaughter, Zoee Swan (Michael); great great grandchildren, Gwenieve Swan and Audrey Swan; special nieces and great nieces, Sydney Palmer (Chris), Kinley Dannels, Larkin Dannels and Lawson Palmer; and a host of other nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Ray is preceded in death by his son-in-law, Frank Smith; grandson, Matthew Smith; and siblings, Leda Reagan, Eva Tinnel, Gladys Sherrill, Cleo Barnwell, Marvin Barnwell, Casto Barnwell, Homer Dee Barnwell, Virden Barnwell, Lon Barnwell, Carl Barnwell and Emmett Barnwell.
Funeral Service will be held at Pine Grove Church of God of Prophecy on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at 3:00 PM with burial to follow at Green Acres Memory Gardens. Family will receive friends at the church from 2:00 to 3:00 PM prior to the service.
