Ray Davis, age 90, passed away on Monday, November 25, 2025, in Louisville. He was the son of the late Herman Davis and Mary Ethel McClain Davis. He was a member of Living Water Church. He spent four years in the United States Air Force and spent a year in Korea. He worked for 30 years at General Electric at Appliance Park. After retiring he worked for about 10 years going to auction for Ethington Auto Sales and Browning Chevrolet. He loved camping out and riding horses. He loved the outdoors keeping a nice-looking lawn. He planted flowers every year filling the yard and planted trees, not worrying about the cleanup of leaves.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters Charlotte Funsten, Helen Wheeler, and Geneva Whisman; and his brothers Roy and Mac Davis.

He is survived by his wife Helen Ray of 72 years; his daughters, Ray Jean Perry (Johnny), Linda Ellis (Larry); his son John Davis; his four grandchildren; his 7 great grandchildren; and his 10 great great grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. with Bro. Philip Whitehead officiating on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at the Shannon Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Grove Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may be made out to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Pl, Memphis TN 38105-9959.
