Ray Cameron Embury, Jr., 77, of Broad Brook, Connecticut, passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at Hartford Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 15, 1946, in Detroit, Michigan, the son of the late Ray Cameron Embury, Sr. and Lillian (Ferrier) Embury.
Ray's journey in life was marked by dedication, both to his professional career and his cherished passions. He spent many fulfilling years as the Manager of Konica Minolta's bizhub Image Center, Office Services and Community Relations and left a lasting impact on colleagues and friends alike. Ray's commitment to excellence and his unwavering professionalism were evident in all aspects of his work.
Yet, beyond his professional endeavors, Ray found his greatest joys in the simple pleasures of life. An avid golfer, he found solace and joy on the green fairways, where he honed his skills and created lasting memories with friends and family. As a devoted fan of the Detroit Red Wings, Ray's passion for hockey knew no bounds, and he cheered for his beloved team with unwavering loyalty.
Summers held a special place in Ray's heart, particularly those spent at Matunuck Beach (MTK) in Rhode Island. The salty breeze, warm sands, and endless waves provided the backdrop for cherished memories with his loved ones, creating a bond that would last a lifetime.
Ray's love for music was another cornerstone of his life. Whether strumming his guitar or listening to his favorite tunes, he found comfort and joy in the melodies that filled his days. His love for music was matched only by his love for his family.
Ray shared a deep and abiding love with his cherished wife, Carolyn (Bein) Embury, with whom he built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. He was a pillar of support and a source of strength to his two sons, Andrew R. Embury and his wife, Kim of Somers, and Chad E. Embury and his wife, Morgan of Berlin, along with his five grandchildren, Dawson, Emmalyn, Dylan, Sawyer, and Cole, who were the lights of his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
In addition to his immediate family and many dear friends, Ray is survived by his sister, Marilyn Attinger, and her husband, Jim, of Arizona. He was predeceased by his brother, William Embury.
Family and friends are invited to gather and pay their respects on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Carmon Funeral Home, located at 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor, Connecticut.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice in Ray's honor.

Playing golf with Ray, Tempo Raymondo , many years ago at Tallwood. He always brought " his boys" from his younger days to make a 4some for our Member-Guest tournament and they were the highlight of the weekend. He will be missed by many, especially his family. So sorry to hear of his passing, sincere condolences, Don "Satch" Sanders.

Ray was a dear friend for almost 50 years and there isn´t enough room in this forum for all of the wonderful memories of our friendship. My heart is broken and I pray that Cal, Andrew and Chad and their families can find peace in knowing that Ray´s pain is over and he will forever be in our hearts. Rest in peace my friend.

Ray was my boss for a few years at Konica when I worked in the Printshop creating banners for the Enfield Hockey Rink. He was always so kind and easy going. I'm truly sorry for your loss.
