Ray Thomas Fitchett

Ray Thomas Fitchett, born on July 17, 1959, in Onancock, Virginia, passed away quietly on December 15, 2025, in Parksley, Virginia. He was the beloved son of the late Mattie L. Fitchett and Sylvannus Savage.
Ray was educated in Accomack County Public Schools and proudly served in the National Guard. He spent many years working with Moore Trucking, where he was known as dependable, hardworking, and always willing to lend a hand.
Ray was a natural jokester and truly the life of the party, he had a way of making people laugh and feel at ease. Ray was deeply loved and will be remembered for his heart, his humor, and the joy he brought to those around him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mattie L. Fitchett and Sylvannus Savage; his sons, Senate Nock and Brandon Harris; and his siblings, Rose Anne Fitchett, Geneva Fitchett Gunther, Bernice Fitchett, and Delefield Webster Fitchett.
Left to cherish many memories are his wife, Samantha Logan Fitchett; his children, Travon Harris, Breon Harris, Javontae Harris, Raenikus Harris, Ray Fitchett, Jr., Deleon Fitchett, Durell Fitchett, Sadina Fitchett, Devon Blake, She'Ray Ballard, Ray'Ovontae Fitchett, Kierra Ballard, Ray'Chielle Gardiner, Ray'Niya Fitchett, and Jaravion Fitchett; as well as a host of grandchildren, cousins, extended family, and friends.
Ray was truly a family man whose love ran deep. His presence, laughter, and guidance will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know him.
