Ray Gunter, age 68 of Beebe went to be with the Lord May 28, 2023.  Ray was born on April 20, 1955, in Little Rock to R.E. and Marie Gunter.

Ray was an avid sports fan, he loved the Arkansas Razorbacks and enjoyed going to the many games with his family and friends.  If you couldn’t find Ray taking a leisurely stroll through the streets of Beebe, you could find him at a local sporting event.  He was the voice of the Beebe Badgers for many years and took pride in his participation in Beebe sports.  Ray was a member of the Beebe Church of Christ where he served as a deacon for most of his adult life.  Ray taught secondary education for over thirty years in central Arkansas.  He always took the scenic route on family vacations taking them all over the United States.

Ray is survived by his wife of thirty-nine years, Shelah; one son, Scott (Lauren) Gunter of El Paso; two daughters, Sheray (Allen) Higginbotham of Sherwood and Sydney (Blake) Gunter of Sherwood; four grandchildren, Landen and Ellie Gunter and Grayson and Jonathan Higginbotham.

There is not a better man than Ray Gunter! Our paths would cross at school, a ball game or just out and about around time. Every time I saw him he always came up to me to speak! I can´t think of a man with a sweeter spirit than Ray! If you want to know what a Christian man was to look like need look no further than Ray! He as a great example to all who knew! Praying for your family and rejoicing that he has seen the face of our Lord!
