On Tuesday, April 12, 2022, Almighty God in His infinite wisdom, called home His son, Ray Anthony Harris to rest in His eternal comfort.
Ray was born on October 10, 1972, in Tappahannock, Virginia, to Julia Harris and the late Willie Harris. He spent his childhood and most of his adult life in Amelia, Va and attended Virginia State University in Petersburg, Va. On August 25, 1998, he welcomed his beloved daughter, Rayven Nicole Harris.
He worked for Richfood and Overnite Transportation prior to establishing a career home working for the State of Virginia for over 20 years and was a dedicated employee and hard worker.
Ray was an avid reader and was skilled in technology and repairing electronics. He loved playing video games, loved comic books, watching movies, watching basketball and football, and absolutely loved his Philadelphia Eagles.
Ray leaves to cherish fond memories, his mother Julia Harris (Larry Hawkes), his daughter Rayven Harris, his daughter's mother and family friend Nicole Brickhouse, and a host of dedicated friends, family members and co-workers.
Viewing Friday, April 15, 2022 from 1 to 7PM.
Funeral Service Saturday, April 16, 2022 at 2:00PM at W.E. Hawkes & Son Funeral Home, Blackstone. Interment Manassa Hill Baptist Church, Amelia.

Ray and I shared a lot great memories over our 20+ year friendship. I was devastated to hear of his passing . My condolences and prayers to Julia and Rayven. Ray will truly be missed.
