In memory of
Rich Whipple
August 15, 2022
Unfortunately for me, I can not be at Ray's funeral, as I have an appointment with the Ann Arbor VA Hospital that I can not break. and I live in Canton.
Being a classmate of Ray's older sister (Gayle), I remember the many tasks each member of the McKinley's children would have to do. My father was a councilman when Dr. McKinley was the mayor, and he had nothing but praise for Doc McKinley!
One year after our class of '64, I went to the Fraser gym to watch the "Rambler's" playing basketball. Gayle happened to be there as well that weekend and she asked me if I'd like to drive with her to pick up Ray in Grosse Pointe after his basketball game. I got to know Ray a lot better. Through the years I noted that he was an awesome man, with so many friends (so typical of the McKinley's!).
God bless Ray's family and siblings. I am so sorry that I can't come to the funeral.
Chaplain Rich Whipple, class of '64!

So very sad to hear of Ray´s passing. I have fond memories of skiing and playing golf at Otsego with Ray, who always had a smile on his face and something good to say about everyone. May his soul rest in eternal happiness.

My precious Lynn. My heart is breaking to think of the terrible time you are going through right now. Like me with your dad, always remember the happy times you´ve had with Ray and the love you two shared. Wish I could be there to hold and try to comfort you, but you are always in my heart! Mom

Lynn, please know you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. I am sure your heart is broken at the loss of Ray. I never met him, but Jenny shared the time she met all of you in Colorado. I would so like to be with you during this time, but I am sure you understand the long distance and some health issues. Know you are loved here in Alabama and maybe we can get together sometime.
