Ray Junior Milligan, 76, of Mesquite, TX passed away on January 5, 2026. Ray was born on June 9, 1949, to Arthur and Julia Milligan in Terrell, TX. He grew up in Kaufman and Terrell and began working for Penny’s Gas Company. Ray worked for them for approximately 30 years driving their propane trucks. In December 1999 he fell in love with Melva Smith, and they have been together for a loving 26 years. He was the love of her life as she was the love of his life. He loved having a good time and was all about the party and would love to dance when at the party. Ray would spend time working in his yard, mowing and weed eating. He was a beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather and Brother. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Julia, daughter Gidget Milligan, brothers: Danny, James and Leslie, and sister Joann. Those left to cherish his memory are wife Melva, son Ray Junior Milligan II, Frankie Milligan and wife Jessica, Chad Smith and wife Kristi, grandchildren: Colton, Broc, Ashlynn, Brittnee, Carter, Harper, and special buddy, and grandson, Hayes; great grandchildren: Raelynn, Paisleigh, Makenlee, Kyler, Myles, Maurii, and Miracle; siblings: Gene, Sharon, Barbara; brothers-in-law: John Clark and Danny Miller and wife Lindsey; sisters-in-law: Debbie Beadle and husband Kenny and Sandy Miller; numerous extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.  Those serving as pallbearers are best friends John Clark and Danny Miller; son Chad Smith; grandsons: Colton Milligan, Broc Milligan, and Carter Milligan and honorary pallbearer Buddy Smith.
