Ray Monteith, age 80, of Forest City, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2026 at his home.
Ray was born Saturday, November 17, 1945 in Rutherford County to the late Howard Monteith and Ethel Stewart Monteith. He was a graduate of Alexander High School. Ray worked for Mastercraft for over thirty years and as a security guard for One Security Company for many years. He was a longtime and faithful member of the Alexander Missionary Methodist Church where he served as a deacon.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of thirty-five years, Linda Monteith; sisters, Pat Caldwell, Gayle Flack, and Kaye Briscoe and brothers, Steve Monteith, and Eddie Gonzales.
Survivors include his daughter, Jennifer Hodge (Curtis) of Forest City; sons, J.B. Franklin of Forest City, Rodney Deal of Spindale, Wayne Brooks (Charlotte) of Myrtle Beach, SC, Ronnie Gonzales of Forest City; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
There will no formal services conducted.
