What a great picture of Ray. It truly shows the humor and love he shared with everyone he met. My family and I have known and loved Ray since high school. He was so funny and compassionate. He will always hold a place in our hearts. I know he was so proud of and loved his family dearly and beyond measure. Our prayers are with each of you.

So sorry to learn of Ray's passing. While I had no contact with him over the last 35 years (after leaving Virginia in 1991), I still have great memories of Ray from the times we spent together in the Greater Herndon Jaycees and the many fishing trips that the group took during that time. Ray had a great sense of humor and always kept us laughing. I can still remember the time that he walked through a screen door during one of those fishing trips with a plate of hamburgers which flew in many directions and with Ray knocking over the grill and starting a small fire on the deck. While he was not hurt, we all had a good laugh about it and we talked about it during all future fishing trips. I also remember sharing a room with him in a cabin in Canada on another fishing trip and at about 3:00 AM I woke up to the sound of him playing a harmonica. When I asked what he was doing he said that he could not sleep and decided that playing on his harmonica would relax him so that he could sleep. Well it worked for him but definitely not for me as there was no way that I could go back to sleep! Ray lived a full and happy life and his love for his bride Barbara was obvious. Condolences to Barbara and Ray's family on his passing.
