From the Ratheal family,
It is with great sorrow that we announce the death of Ray Lynn Ratheal, Jr, age 44, on August 2,
2023, beloved son, brother, father, and uncle. He died from complications of organ failure. Ray
was a long time resident of East Tennessee and was born and raised in East Texas. He was a
graduate of MMI of
Phoenix, Arizona, and served in the United States Army 2nd Battalion, 27th
Infantry Regiment completing multiple foreign tours of duty with the infantry and Special
Operations forces.
He is survived by his daughter and son, Kylee and Tyler Ratheal, and their mother, Brandee;
son and daughter, Karsten and Selah Ratheal, and their mother, Rachel; sisters Crystal Hauser
and husband David, and April Jones and husband Jack, and 10 nieces and nephews; brother
Brad Ratheal and wife Della; mother Susan Ratheal; and his life partner, Christy Deskins. He
was preceded in death by his father, Ray Lynn Ratheal, Sr.
There is no service planned at this time. We are planning a military service for a later date.
