Ray was born May 18, 1951, in Buncombe County to the late Charlie and Thelma Reems. He is also preceded in death by his daughter, Melissa Anne Reems.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife of almost 55 years, Lyn Reems; son, Matthew Reems; brother, Tony Reems; grandson, Chance Effler; sister-in-law, Gayle Trantham; brother-in-law, Philip Trantham (Von); special aunt, Betty Jo Trantham; and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life service will be held on Monday, September 22, 2025, at 2:00pm in the chapel of Harwood Home for Funerals.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
