Ray Savage Obituary
Ray Cecil Savage, a true adventurer and lifelong man of the oil fields, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2025, at the age of 82. A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, November 13, 2025, at Avalos-Sanchez and Thomas Funeral Chapel 1502 N. Lamesa Rd. Midland, TX 79701 beginning at 10:00 am. The family will receive friends beginning at 9:00 am in the chapel. Interment will take place at Serenity Memorial Gardens Cemetery immediately following the service. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Avalos-Sanchez and Thomas Funeral Home. Online condolences can be made at asancheztfh.com.

Ray and I were friends from elementary through senior year at Robert E. Lee High School in Midland. Ray worked at Bowen's Drug during that time and he made some great Root Beer Floats, always friendly and helpful. We lost touch after graduation, but connected through Facebook after his wife died (she and I were Facebook Friends). Ray had an amazing life in oilfields in other countries and loved to share those stories, some of which he was blessed to have survived. I will always feel lucky to have shared these last few years with him even though it was via cellphone, as he was in West TX and I'm in East TX. Ray was a good man and he's with the love of his life again. R.I.P Ray.
