Ray Snow, a man of remarkable skill and quiet passion, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2024, in
Corpus Christi, Texas, after a courageous battle with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and liver cancer. Born on July 16, 1955, in the heart of Indiana, Ray's life journey was one of dedication, love, and the simple pleasures that bring color to our days.
Ray's early life in Indiana set the stage for his industrious character. Although his academic journey at the local Industrial Junior College was left incomplete, Ray's pursuit of knowledge never ceased. He channeled his learning into his hands, becoming a masterful tile man and carpenter-a trade he honed and practiced for over two decades. His work, marked by precision and reliability, left a tangible legacy in the homes and hearts of those he helped build and repair.
A man of few words, Ray's actions spoke volumes about the kind of person he was: handy, passionate, and selfless. His life companion, Maria Gipson, stood by his side as a testament to his deep capacity for love and commitment. Together with Maria's best friend, Connie Gonzales, they created a close-knit circle that was more like family. Ray's loyal canine companions, Sundance and his dearly departed Toffee, were never far from his side, sharing in his daily joys and providing comfort and companionship.
Ray's interests were as genuine as his smile. He found solace in the tranquility of fishing, the satisfaction of tending to his garden, and the excitement of following his beloved cowboys. But of all his passions, it was the roar of a Harley-Davidson motorcycle that made his eyes light up the most. For Ray, there was no greater freedom than the open road, the wind on his face, and the thunderous heartbeat of the engine.
His favorite foods were a mirror to his personality-unpretentious and full of flavor. Mexican and Chinese cuisines were his go-to choices, always accompanied by a cold Bud Light beer, a simple pleasure he savored.
Ray's life was a testament to the beauty of simplicity and the impact of a well-lived life. He may not have been a man of many words, but the words that best describe him-handy, passionate, selfless-paint a picture of a life rich with purpose and love.
As we say farewell to Ray Snow, we honor the legacy he leaves behind. His was a life lived with a quiet strength, a gentle heart, and a spirit that will continue to inspire those who knew him. Though he has left this earthly realm, the memories he created, the lives he touched, and the love he shared will endure forever.
A visitation will be held from 4-9 PM on Friday, April 26, 2024, at Maxwell P. Dunne Funeral Service –MORGAN AVENUE, followed by a Funeral Service at 6 PM.
