Ray C. Wilson passed away on Monday, December 14, 2009. He was born in Houston on July 10, 1929. Ray earned a BBA and an MBA in Real Estate and Finance from the University of Texas in Austin. During his career, Ray was involved in real estate development and finance throughout the United States, Hawaii and Alaska. He was an executive vice president of American National Insurance Company in Galveston and also for the Society for Savings in Hartford, Conn. Ray was on the board of Rotan Mosle and CEO of three of their subsidiaries. He was CEO of Diversified Mortgage Investments, a real estate investment trust listed on the New York Stock Exchange. As President of the Real Estate Group of San Antonio Savings Association, Ray developed land and created subdivisions and business centers. He was guest lecturer at the University of North Carolina, The Northwestern University of Chicago, Michigan State University, and The University of Texas in Austin. Ray was featured speaker at national conventions for the Mortgage Bankers Association of America, and the International Council of Shopping Centers. He was published in The Mortgage Banker, Commercial Construction News, and the American Banker Magazine. Ray was listed in several editions of Who's Who: In America, In the South and Southwest, In Finance and Industry, In Real Estate, and In Insurance. He was also listed in Who's Who in the World. Ray's memberships included the Riviera Country Club in Coral Gables, Florida, the Farmington Country Club in Farmington, Conn., The Hartford Club, Oak Hills Country Club, the Argyle, Club Giraud and the Artillery Club of Galveston, Texas and the Los Allegradores Dance Club. Among his many and varied interests were snorkeling, UT football, travel and ranching. He visited over 50 countries. Ray also enjoyed spending time with his family at his Rio Verde Ranch near Boerne. Ray is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Lucy Reid Wilson; son, Reid Wilson and his wife, Kim; daughters, Cindy Walker and her husband Jerry, and Lisa Waldron and her husband, Burch; grandchildren, Palmer and Katherine Wilson, and Van, Casey, and Kimber Walker. MEMORIAL SERVICE MONDAY DECEMBER 21, 2009 1:00 P.M. ST. LUKE'S EPISCOPAL CHURCH 11 ST. LUKE'S LANE Father Chip Prehn will be officiating. There will be a private interment at the family's Rio Verde Ranch in Kendall County. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials to Friends of Hospice San Antonio, Inc., P.O Box 40487, San Antonio, TX 78229, the Salvation Army, or a charity of your choice.

I was a fraternity brother of Ray and one of the Groomen at Ray and Lucien wedding. Like other things the years went by and it wasn't until just the year before his passing that I talked to him on the phone.

To hear his laughter again after all those years was wonderful. We made plans to get together. But...that never happened.

Lucie, if you read this I would love hear from you.my love you and allow me to share I you grief.
