Raymond Grant Bernhardt

RAYMOND BERNHARDT Raymond Grant Bernhardt, 85, resident of 102 Kingston Road, widower of Janet Moher Bernhardt, died October 20, 2011 at McCall Hospice House in Simpsonville. Born April 5, 1926, in Detroit, Michigan, he was a son of the late Larkin William Bernhardt and Corinne Garant Bernhardt. Mr. Bernhardt was retired from Parke-Davis Company in Greenwood. He was transferred to Greenwood with the company when the new plant was built. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and had previously served on the Finance Committee of the parish. Surviving are a sister, Nancy J. Bernhardt of Detroit, MI; two brothers, Edward J. Bernhardt and wife, Maria of Croswell, MI and Joseph L. Bernhardt and wife, Claudia of Lake Havasu City, AZ; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Clyde and Jean Shew of Greenville. A Memorial Mass will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Friday, October 21, 2011, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Rev. James Crowley officiating. Inurnment will be in Oakbrook Memorial Park at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 915 Mathis Road, Greenwood, SC 29649.
